This is where you come in.
We are looking for a rock star technology leader for a team of 10+ including platform, mobile and web. The ideal candidate is a strong product builder, a technology evangelist and a passionate people leader in one, with the combination of customer-first mindset, technical depth, organizational intelligence, operational discipline, and analytical skills.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading the architecture decisions and technology roadmap for all of Bellhop’s product suite, driving both the long-term and short-term initiatives to deliver the roadmap
  • Hiring, managing, and retaining top software engineering talentUnblocking the team by making effective prioritization decisions and leading from the front through challenges and complexities
  • Maintaining a high standard and continuously raising the bar on the quality of software delivered
  • Collaborating with product management and other internal teams across the company to maximize the value of the products delivered
  • Reporting on results to executive leadership and communicating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners

We are excited if you bring

  • 8+ years of prior IC experience doing hands-on development, with a record of performing at a Principal Architect level
  • 7+ years of experience as a people manager, including experience as the head of Engineering at company level or as the director of Engineering for core products (fullstack) at a large company
  • High level of motivation, independence, teamwork, and passion for innovation
  • A deep understanding of software engineering practices, including design, code quality, data structures, and technical problem solving
  • A track record of managing and delivering complex projects through the entire cycle from ideation to achieving business results
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in an agile environment
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • A track record of accelerating people’s careers and developing the next generation of technology leaders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with and managing geographically distributed teams
  • Hands-on experience in either Python or React is required
  • Experience developing products on both sides of a marketplace platform is preferred
  • Experience building enterprise level integrations is preferred
