Built is seeking an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with experience as a software engineer and be responsible for managing complex, cross-functional engineering programs from conception to delivery. You will work closely with general managers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of technical programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex technical projects, working closely with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products

  • Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals and objectives

  • Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies, and communicate progress and status updates to senior leadership

  • Own end-to-end success of cross-functional programs that are assigned, ensuring all delivery teams in the channels are coordinated and delivering to the technical and product plans

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, track progress, and drive issues to resolution

  • Drive continuous improvement in the program management processes, product delivery lifecycle, and tools to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of technical programs

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, and foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 12+ years of highly relative experience in delivering large scale technical programs. This should include several years recently doing TPM work and may also include software engineering experience or other technical contributor roles. A balanced history of hands on engineering and leading delivery of complex technical programs is highly desirable.
  • Foundational understanding of modern software architectures, patterns, and tech stacks, enabling you to “get technical” and anticipate technical and integrations issues across the program and work with resolve them.

  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget

  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Previous or current hands-on experience as a Software Engineer or DevOps professional, enabling you to dive deep into the technical delivery of the program and anticipate quality, security, and integrity issues across the program and work to resolve them.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience managing large-scale projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience in software development or a related field

  • Ability to work independently and drive results in a cross-functional environment

Built’s salary range for this position is $175,000 - $205,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees.
