Built is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Real Estate Deal Management team. In this role, you will be focused on unlocking Built's largest revenue opportunities through working alongside other talented engineers to deliver features in a sustainable, scalable way. You will create new or extend existing React micro frontends, Node product APIs, and services backed by MySQL or DynamoDB as we shift towards an event-driven architecture. Outside of standard sprint cadence meetings (10% of your time), the large majority of your time will be spent in the code and collaborating with your team. You should feel comfortable taking ownership of your code, monitoring performance, writing documentation, and holding others to your high standards.
Responsibilities:
Works on engineering initiatives that drive a larger feature set, while being careful to not create technical debt in the process.
Preemptively scans issue backlogs. Actions include but are not limited to: familiarizing themselves with pain points in the system, applying relevant labels and triaging, closing them via pull request or other means.
Is considerate of others on the team and tries to support other people in their work.
Listens to the priorities and concerns of others, and acknowledges differing perspectives. Anticipates others’ reactions.
Tech Stack:
TypeScript, including but not limited to Express, Nest, React, and GraphQL
Python, including but not limited to Flask, FastAPI, Django, and SQLAlchemy
Persistence layers such as DynamoDB, MySQL, and Redis
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
Excellent communication skills
A strong focus on our customers, both internal and external
A dedication to the quality and ownership of your work product
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience with code reviews
Ability to independently grasp concepts and help teams form & execute on strong technical solutions
Contribute to our growing architecture and best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of AWS products, such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, and MSK
Experience utilizing some or all of Kubernetes, Docker, AWS CodeBuild, Terraform or Crossplane
