TEAM

Built Technologies is searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Marketplace Platform team. This is a rare opportunity to change the way Owners, Lenders, and Contractors in the construction industry discover goods and services for their projects. You will be working alongside a highly motivated team that emphasizes delivering quality products to customers without compromise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Write and review code that is testable, maintainable, and performant
Implement solutions according to a written specification, rapidly growing into producing specifications autonomously in support of larger business objectives
Contribute to and author important technical decisions that impact the way products are built and supported by engineering

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with Typescript
Significant experience building reliable and performant APIs
Full stack engineer with a core competency in backend technologies and cloud computing, preferably with AWS
Passionate about writing quality code that is testable and maintainable
A “player-coach” mentality, capable of simultaneously making strong technical contributions while mentoring others within the context of small cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to understand and troubleshoot legacy codebases
A product focused engineering mindset - you are a critical thinker who seeks to understand why products are being built and how they deliver value to customers
You enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

SKILLS

Experience with GraphQL
Experience designing, building, and supporting highly scalable microservices
Experience designing and troubleshooting event driven systems built on Kafka, SNS/SQS, or RabbitMQ
Experience with testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, and Selenium
Familiarity with common agile processes such as Scrum and Kanban
Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems is desirable
Experience building e-commerce solutions is desirable

Tech Stack

Front-end: React, Apollo, GraphQL, TypeScript
Gateway API: NestJS/Express, Apollo, GraphQL, TypeScript, DynamoDB
Services: NestJS, TypeScript, DynamoDB - and limited exposure to Python, MySQL
Optional familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS)

Built’s salary range for this position is $120,000 - 175,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, variable compensation, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits.
