Role Overview

We're looking for a contract UI/UX Designer to lead the redesign of an existing web application, from wireframes through a reusable, component-based design system and polished high fidelity designs. There is potential to extend this work to our medical device software. The existing web application serves as a portal for clinicians and healthcare administrators to review utilization of our Rise&Walk devices, understand the patients' progress as they use the device for rehabilitation, and surface insights about how rehabilitation sessions are being structured. Additionally, the internal account management team at Healing Innovations uses the application to review utilization on a per-customer and per-facility basis, drive reaching out to customers who are in need of support, and set goals for facility administrators to help ensure they are getting the most out of having our devices within their facilities.

Immediate Responsibilities

  • Wireframe the overhaul of an existing web application to ensure that the screens, user experience flows, and page content make sense.
  • Use the wireframes to determine which reusable components are needed to build out the application.
  • Build a component-based design system based on the Bulma UI framework.
  • Create high fidelity designs of the application using those components and the design system.

Potential Follow Up Work

  • Extend the component-based design system to support the needs of the on-device medical software application.
  • Using the design system, create high fidelity designs of the application, referencing the existing software for both the In Home and In Clinic versions of the Rise&Walk device.

Qualifications

  • Portfolio showing wireframes, design systems, and high fidelity web application designs
  • Experience building component-based design systems, ideally with Bulma or a similar CSS framework
  • Proficiency in Figma or a comparable design tool
  • Experience designing for healthcare or medical device software is a plus
