What we are seeking

Sparkz is looking to introduce a battery energy storage system (BESS) for the grid, as part of its mission to establish and be at the forefront of a US produced lithium-ion battery energy ecosystem.

The Systems Manufacturing Technician supports the assembly, integration, testing, commissioning, and production of Sparkz battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related battery products. This is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of battery modules, racks, cabinets, enclosures, and supporting system components.

The Systems Manufacturing Technician works closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to support prototype development, new-product introduction, production readiness, and the transition of BESS products into scalable manufacturing.

This is what you will be doing at Sparkz:

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly and integration of battery modules, racks, cabinets, enclosures, and complete battery energy storage systems.
  • Lead and support hands-on assembly, wiring, routing, plumbing, fastening, and integration of BESS components and subsystems.
  • Install and connect battery cells, busbars, wiring harnesses, BMS components, thermal-management components, sensors, electrical hardware, fluid connections, and other system components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measurement equipment, test equipment, and production fixtures in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
  • Support the setup, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and process systems used in BESS development and manufacturing.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and electrical, mechanical, and functional testing to identify defects, abnormal conditions, and system or assembly issues.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), P&IDs, equipment manuals, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support implementation and verification of interfaces between mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control-system components.
  • Complete production records, material transactions, inspection records, test results, and other manufacturing documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering builds, new-product introduction, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, rework, and production ramp activities.
  • Work with Engineering to identify manufacturability, assembly, integration, and serviceability issues and help develop practical solutions.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on manufacturing processes and assembly methods to improve safety, quality, reliability, efficiency, and production readiness.
  • Support development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, maintenance procedures, standardized work, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas and follow all applicable electrical, battery, ESD, PPE, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Operations, and R&D to resolve manufacturing and system-integration issues.
