YOUR ROLE

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to help guide strategic, operational, and financial decision making and partner with exceptional colleagues at a high-growth / high-impact healthtech startup. You’ll gain invaluable experience, a deep understanding of the value-based healthcare industry, and the chance to hone your advanced financial modeling skills. As our first FP&A and Strategic Finance Manager you will report to our Head of Strategic Finance and work cross functionally with talented and multidisciplinary colleagues across key functional areas such as Growth Operations, Data Science, and Corporate Strategy. This is a critical role that will enable Thyme Care to scale quickly as a high-growth business.

You're the right fit for this role if you can demonstrate financial modeling skills, are energized by working in a fast-paced / high-performance work environment, seek out opportunities for ownership and problem solving, and are able to master the details while keeping the big picture in context.

  • Near-term priorities include:
    • Building customer-level financial forecasts with key operational drivers
    • Preparing insightful monthly reporting and analysis for key revenue metrics and customer / segment-level financials
    • Partnering with Data Science, Growth Operations, Corporate Strategy, and Accounting teams to support accurate forecast assumptions for new and existing customers
  • Medium-term priorities include:
    • Assuming ownership of the long-term financial model
    • Facilitating company-wide annual budget planning processes
    • Assisting with executive and board of directors level reporting packages
  • Long-term priorities include:
    • Leveraging existing software and supporting implementation of new tools and technology to support building scalable infrastructure
    • Analyzing department-level variances and meeting with budget owners to discuss ongoing performance and areas for improvement
    • Partnering with Member Operations and Recruiting to enhance headcount approval processes to ensure effective resource allocation
    • Perform ad hoc decision support analysis such as new line of business evaluation, staffing capacity analysis, and CAC analysis in support of ROI

WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

  • Act with our members in mind. Thyme Care’s mission, and in particular our member experience, matters deeply to you.
  • Move with purpose. You’re biased to action. You know how to identify and prioritize your initiative’s needs, and do what it takes to ensure that urgent and important needs are acted on immediately. You’re energized by working in a fast-paced / high-performance work environment.
  • Seek diverse perspectives. You are humble and proactively seek feedback from others. You’re always looking to learn and grow, solve problems, and increase your scope and ownership. Working across a variety of teams is second nature.
  • Expertise. You have 2-4 years of experience with investment banking, FP&A / strategic finance, management consulting, may have also been at a big 4 audit company, and likely have spent time at a startup, too. You're deeply interested in value-based care and may have professional experience working at a business with a value-based model. You have demonstrated financial modeling skills: you should have no problem building a three-statement excel model from scratch. You’re comfortable delivering reports for both Thyme Care’s executive team and Board, and can concisely articulate complex financial concepts to a non-financial audience.
  • Understand the details + big picture. You can master the details while keeping the big picture context top of mind.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You have a proven track record of success within scaling businesses, fast-paced environments, and startups. You understand that rapid changes to the business, strategy, organization, and priorities is par for the course. You have experienced what it’s like to rapidly scale a function and company.
