As a Thyme Care Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will provide direct clinical care using a telemedicine platform to ensure that Thyme Care members receive high-quality, trauma-informed, whole-person care when needed. You will also assist our case management team by offering guidance on prioritizing members’ needs. This role reports to our Nurse Practitioner Lead and VP of Clinical Innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting whole-person comprehensive health assessments, known as Health & Wellness Visits
  • Diagnosing and managing urgent clinical needs related to a member’s oncologic condition, comorbid diseases, or adverse treatment effects

There is no night or weekend coverage expected for this role. The position can be remote or hybrid based in our Nashville office.

To hit the ground running, we expect you to have medical oncology training, experience caring for patients receiving systemic anticancer treatments, and a proven track record of high-quality clinical care delivered via telemedicine. Ideally, you will also have experience working in a setting that leverages data and technology to support patient care. We also expect you to see problems as opportunities and are often the first to step up, fix, and overcome them.

After your first three months, you will:

  • Know our policies and procedures, escalation pathways, communications best practices, and documentation standards backward and forward, and actively share ideas on improving them.
  • Be on the path to becoming an expert on our Thyme Care systems, tools, technology, partners, and expectations.
  • Be adept at conducting whole-person comprehensive health assessments for our members with the highest degree of clinical rigor
  • Diagnose and manage urgent clinical concerns related to adverse treatment effects, comorbid conditions, or oncologic processes
  • Collaborate with external providers to ensure that care is not delivered in a silo
  • Document appropriately meeting the Thyme Care Clinical Documentation standards
  • Efficiently review medical records to identify high-risk drivers of clinical instability and work with our case management team to ensure that interventions to address these drivers are prioritized
  • Built strong, trusting relationships with the case management team
