About the Role
Whisper Aero is a next-generation, air propulsion company that delivers thrust more cleanly, efficiently, and quietly than ever before.
We’re looking for a part-time assembly technician to join its team. This technician will be focused on applying cutting-edge rapid prototyping techniques to the production of flight-weight hardware and testing equipment. They will have a solid track record of managing machinist equipment and troubleshooting technical challenges.

What You’ll Do:
Build prototype mechanical assemblies
Operate and maintain rapid prototyping equipment (FDM, SLA 3D printers)
Provide recommendations for assembly and rapid prototyping improvement
Setup and test electronic equipment (avionics, batteries, etc.)
Setup large scale test stands (weldments, 80-20, etc.)
Assist in the setup of test stations and with data collection

What You’ll Need:
U.S. Person status is required, as this position may access export controlled data
2+ years of experience in a professional technical environment
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and CAD models to produce precision parts
Experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of rapid prototyping machines
Proven background in complex mechanical assembly
Experience with general and precision hand tools (calipers, digital Wiha’s, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Google suite experience
Ability to work in groups and individually
Experience in a fast-paced design environment
Ability to work 20+ hours per week

Bonus Qualifications:
Experience in R&D space
CAD proficiency (Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred)
Proficiency using Formlabs, Raise3D, and Prusa 3D printers
Familiarity with all types of electronics tools (optical scanners, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
Experience with high voltage batteries and electric motors and controllers
Aerospace and drone experience
