About the Role
Whisper Aero is a next-generation, air propulsion company that delivers thrust more cleanly, efficiently, and quietly than ever before.
Whisper is seeking undergraduate and graduate interns for year round internships or co-ops. Internships and co-ops are available across all groups, including: IT, Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Aerodynamic Design, Ground Test, Flight Test, and Product. In this internship role, you will be responsible for developing projects from inception through implementation, owning your work, assisting and learning from IT and engineering mentors, and working across groups. Interns are provided a housing stipend and competitive pay.
What You’ll Do
Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on workstations, laptops, and mobile devices
Assist with the deployment of new IT equipment for new hires and office expansions
Perform routine maintenance and support tasks for network infrastructure including cabling and server racks
Provide first level technical support for end-users including remote support
Ensure security protocols are maintained for all IT systems and data
Assist with the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
Contribute to the development of IT projects as needed
Basic Qualifications
Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure cabling and equipment configuration
Foundational understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
Ability to provide excellent customer service and technical support
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship period
Experience with projects in field of study
A willingness to work on tasks outside your primary job functions
U.S. Person status
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and group policy management
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds
Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack
Exposure to or familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java
Knowledge of endpoint security and encryption solutions such as BitLocker or Defender for Business
